Dr. Al Rabeeah urges international pressure for unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza

Cairo, November 23, 2023, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, the Advisor to the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), called upon the international community and UN organizations to exert pressure on Israel, urging unrestricted access for humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Al Rabeeah made these remarks during a press conference held at the Kingdom's Embassy in Cairo, coinciding with the signing of four joint cooperation agreements with key organizations: the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the World Food Program. These agreements, with a total value of SAR150 million, aim to alleviate the catastrophic humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The Advisor highlighted the well-known humanitarian challenges faced by the people of Gaza, encompassing shortages of medicine, food, and water, mass displacement, and widespread human suffering. Stressing the urgent need for immediate action from the international community, Dr. Al Rabeeah emphasized the importance of collective efforts to address the critical situation.

Under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH, the Crown Prince, the Kingdom initiated a popular campaign supported by a generous donation from the Saudi leadership and people. KSrelief launched a rapid relief campaign, including an air bridge and a sea bridge. As of the press conference, 15 relief planes had arrived at El-Arish, and the first ship had docked at Port Said. These bridges will continue to operate to cover humanitarian needs.

Dr. Al Rabeeah noted that a substantial amount of aid is currently stationed in El-Arish and Rafah, including over 326 trucks and 20 ambulances awaiting entry into Gaza, with additional assistance en route. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Egyptian Red Crescent in facilitating the reception of this aid.

Acknowledging the challenges, Dr. Al Rabeeah called on the organizations that signed agreements with KSrelief to act swiftly and collaboratively to ensure the timely delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip. He underscored the significance of these joint efforts in bringing relief to the people of Gaza, particularly children, women, and those facing challenging humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing conflict.
