Riyadh, March 02, 2024, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court, Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), and leader of the medical and surgical team tasked with separating Siamese twins, paid a visit to Omar and Ali at the King Abdullah Specialized Children’s Hospital of King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard. His visit aimed to assess their condition post their successful separation surgery.
The twins were joined in the lower chest and abdomen, with shared liver, bile ducts, and intestines. The intricate separation procedure, which involved the expertise of twenty-seven doctors and specialists, along with technicians and nursing staff, lasted approximately 11 hours and was conducted in six meticulous surgical phases.
Speaking on behalf of the medical team, Al Rabeeah extended gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for their unwavering support and diligent oversight of the Saudi program for the separation of conjoined twins.
