Riyadh, September 30, 2023, Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, President of the Human Rights Commission, has emphasized the Kingdom's remarkable progress in various domains, including human rights. She attributed this advancement to the substantial support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
During her official visit to the UK, Al-Tuwaijri held a meeting with Lord Tariq Ahmad, the British Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and the UN. In this meeting, she underscored the Saudi leadership's commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights.
Both officials examined the historical legislative reforms and advancements in human rights in Saudi Arabia following the implementation of the Saudi Vision 2030. They also discussed opportunities for bolstering cooperation in the realm of human rights and other areas.
Al-Tuwaijri further delivered a lecture at the British Foreign Office, attended by various officials and stakeholders. During the lecture, she addressed future trends in the Human Rights Commission's performance and highlighted the tools employed to safeguard human rights, as well as the Kingdom's achievements in this vital area.
