Muscat, September 27, 2023, Dr. Ryadh bin Mohammed Alkhareif, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for International Relations, led the Saudi delegation during the 70th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance Committee, which took place today in Muscat, Oman. This gathering served as a preparatory event for the upcoming 120th meeting of the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee.
Throughout the meeting, participants engaged in discussions regarding various important matters, including the outcomes of the 81st meeting of GCC Central Bank Governors and associated meetings concerning the GCC Customs Union Board, the GCC Common Market Committee, and a specialized working group composed of representatives from the Ministries of Finance, focusing on Group of Twenty (G20) initiatives within the financial sector. Additionally, they delved into proposed governance measures for the implementation of key decisions.
The meeting concluded by generating valuable recommendations for the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee. These recommendations will be further deliberated upon during the scheduled meeting on October 5th, also to be held in Muscat.
