Cairo, September 26, 2023, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary General and Head of International Political Affairs at the Arab League, affirmed the General Secretariat's readiness to facilitate collaboration between concerned Arab and Chinese stakeholders for the implementation of outcomes arising from the inaugural Arab-Chinese summit. These outcomes span various political, economic, and social domains and are enshrined in the summit's three documents, as well as in executive programs of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.
Dr. Al-Manzalawi conveyed this commitment during his address at the commencement of the fourth session of the China-Arab States Forum on Reform and Development held in Shanghai. The event was organized by the China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development and was inaugurated by China's Special Envoy on Middle Eastern Affairs, Zhai Jun. The gathering drew the participation of several ministers, senior officials, experts, and intellectuals from both the Arab and Chinese sides.
Highlighting the significance of the outcomes from the inaugural Arab-Chinese Summit held in Riyadh the previous December, Dr. Al-Manzalawi emphasized the imperative for governments and the private sector to continue their collaborative efforts in translating these outcomes into tangible realities. This should be accomplished within the legal frameworks of respective countries, with the aim of achieving sustainable development in both Arab nations and China.
Dr. Al-Manzalawi further underscored the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative and its potential for mutually beneficial cooperation and sustainable development. He called for the creation of an Arab-Chinese society oriented toward a shared future, contributing to the global community's future.
The agenda for the fourth session of the Arab Forum for Reform and Development encompasses crucial items, including strategies for realizing the outcomes of the inaugural Arab-Chinese Summit. It also involves fostering a Chinese-Arab society for the common future in a new era, implementing the Global Development Initiative, advancing cooperation in high-quality Belt and Road Initiative projects, and elevating the level of Arab-Chinese cooperation.
