Jeddah, March 23, 2025, The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) is spearheading Saudi Arabia's digital transformation by leveraging data and artificial intelligence, notably through the introduction of electronic passport gates at the Kingdom's airports.

In collaboration with the General Directorate of Passports and Matarat Holding, SDAIA has installed 152 automated e-gates at major airports, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. These e-gates facilitate seamless, automated passenger entry, significantly accelerating border control procedures.

SDAIA designed and operates these e-gates by integrating them with various systems, such as border control, biometrics, airlines, and visa services.
