Eastern Region Governor Briefed on SAR1.4 Billion Tourism Project

Eastern Region Governor Prince Saud bin Naif and key stakeholders, including regional development and tourism authorities, expressed commitment to advancing this transformative project, which reflects Vision 2030 goals and promotes sustainable, high-quality tourism initiatives.
A SAR 1.4 billion multi-use resort on Half Moon Beach, operating under the Rixos brand and managed by Accor, will span 262,000 square meters, featuring 400 hotel units, 41 villas, and diverse dining and entertainment options, marking the Eastern Province’s first all-inclusive coastal resort.

Dammam, November 19, 2024 – The Eastern Region is set to witness a significant boost to its tourism and entertainment offerings with the announcement of a SAR 1.4 billion multi-use resort development on Half Moon Beach. Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Region, was briefed on the ambitious project during a high-profile meeting with key stakeholders, underscoring its potential to transform the area into a premier tourism destination.


The meeting brought together prominent officials, including Eastern Region Mayor Eng. Fahad Al-Jubeir, CEO of the Eastern Region Development Authority Eng. Omar bin Saleh Al-Abdullatif, CEO of Ashraq Development and Development Company Eng. Zaki bin Hassan Al-Omran, Head of the Business Sector at the Tourism Development Fund Naif Al-Madi, Head of the Eastern Sector at the National Water Company Eng. Adel Al-Ghamdi, and Executive Director of FTG International Group Fatih Tamince.


The project, set to operate under the prestigious Rixos brand and managed by global hospitality leader Accor, will span over 262,000 square meters. It will feature 400 luxurious hotel units, 41 premium villas, and an array of restaurants, cafés, and entertainment facilities, marking it as the first all-inclusive coastal resort in the Eastern Province. Designed to appeal to both domestic and international visitors, the resort aims to elevate the region’s tourism profile while offering unparalleled hospitality and leisure experiences.


The development is backed by the Tourism Development Fund in collaboration with foreign investment from FTG International Group, demonstrating a strategic alignment with Saudi Arabia’s national tourism strategy. The initiative aims to enhance the quality of life for residents, contribute significantly to the Kingdom’s GDP, and solidify the Eastern Province as a key player in Saudi Arabia’s growing tourism landscape.


Mayor Eng. Fahad Al-Jubeir expressed gratitude to Prince Saud for his unwavering support of the region’s development efforts.
