Education Minister: MicroX Short University Programs Initiative Enhances Students' Abilities and Equips Them with Job Market Skills


Minister Yousef Al-Benyan highlighted the crucial support from Saudi leadership in advancing the education sector, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Human Capability Development Program.


The "MicroX" initiative, featuring 350 digital short university programs, is designed to enhance citizens' skills in response to rapid changes in various labor market sectors.


In collaboration with over 200 local and international partners, "MicroX" supports vital sectors and provides flexible learning opportunities to equip the workforce with emerging skills aligned with Vision 2030's objectives.


Riyadh, September 29, 2024 – Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National eLearning Center, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, emphasized the significant support that Saudi Arabia's education sector continually receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. This strong backing is a driving force behind the ongoing efforts to modernize the Kingdom’s educational system, with a focus on cultivating globally competitive citizens. By fostering educational programs and initiatives aligned with future trends, the Kingdom is progressing towards the ambitious objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030 and the Human Capability Development Program.



The minister further highlighted the importance of the "MicroX" initiative, which has been launched by the National eLearning Center. This initiative aims to enhance the skills and competencies of Saudi citizens, equipping them to navigate the rapid changes taking place in various labor market sectors. With the delivery of 350 short university programs in a digital format, "MicroX" seeks to bridge the gap between education and the evolving needs of the workforce, ensuring that individuals are well-prepared for the challenges of a dynamic job market.



Al-Benyan also noted that the success of "MicroX" is underpinned by partnerships with over 200 local and international organizations. These collaborations are critical in supporting specialized and essential sectors, directly contributing to the realization of the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030. By focusing on emerging skills and addressing the demands of changing industries, the initiative is poised to significantly bolster the national workforce.



Additionally, the minister stressed the importance of accessibility and flexibility in the "MicroX" program.
