El Alamein, September 4, 2024 — In a landmark event for the aviation and aerospace industries, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt inaugurated the inaugural edition of the Egypt International Airshow yesterday. This three-day event, hosted at the El Alamein International Airport in northern Egypt, has drawn over 300 prominent companies from the world's leading aircraft and aerospace manufacturers, representing more than 100 countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The grand opening of the airshow was attended by several distinguished guests, including Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA); Major General Talal bin Suleiman Al-Ghamdi, Deputy Commander of the Air Force; Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt; and Brigadier General Abdul Karim bin Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, the military attaché in Egypt. Their presence underscored the importance of the event in fostering international cooperation and showcasing advancements in the aerospace sector.
The inauguration featured a comprehensive briefing on the array of aircraft participating in the airshow. Among the highlights were the Saudi F-15 system, the Typhoon aircraft, and the Saudi Hawks team.
