Riyadh, November 11, 2024 – On the sidelines of the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a significant meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati to discuss pressing issues facing Lebanon and the wider region.
The two leaders engaged in a comprehensive review of recent developments in Lebanon, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities related to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701. This resolution, originally adopted to bolster stability in Lebanon and the surrounding areas, emphasizes the cessation of hostilities and aims to promote lasting peace along Lebanon’s borders.
