Saudi Girl Scouts Shine at the 43rd World Scout Conference in Cairo

Cairo, August 23, 2024 – The 43rd World Scout Conference, currently underway in Cairo, has been marked by a remarkable and influential presence from the Saudi girl scouts, showcasing their exceptional skills and contributions across various conference forums. Their active participation has highlighted the competence and dedication of Saudi girls on an international stage.

At the conference, the Saudi girl scouts made a significant impact through their engagement in numerous workshops covering a wide range of topics. These included strategies for effective scouting, peace building, fostering inclusion within the scouting community, and modernizing the scouting brand. Their contributions were not limited to the workshops; they also captivated attendees during the international night, where they presented Saudi coffee and a selection of traditional dishes, providing insightful information about these cultural treasures.

Their presence was further underscored at the Saudi Scout Exhibition, a highlight of the conference. The exhibition showcased photographic displays of the Saudi Scouts' community service projects, underscoring their commitment to various causes, including pilgrim support and environmental sustainability initiatives. These contributions not only demonstrated the scouts' dedication to service but also highlighted their role in making a positive impact on the community.

The Saudi girl scouts were also notably active in the general sessions of the conference, particularly those focusing on "Leadership for Success," the World Organization of the Scout Movement's three-year planning framework, global scouting trends, and the forthcoming scouting strategy. Their involvement in these sessions emphasized their engagement with the future direction of the scouting movement and their commitment to leadership and strategic development.

It is worth noting that the previous 42nd World Scout Conference was held virtually last August, marking the first participation of Saudi girl scouts under the leadership of Princess Sama bint Faisal bin Abdullah, Chairwoman of the Saudi Girl Scout Committee. This year’s in-person presence in Cairo has further showcased the strides made by Saudi girl scouts in enhancing their visibility and influence within the global scouting community.

The Saudi girl scouts’ distinguished presence at the 43rd World Scout Conference is a testament to their dedication, preparedness, and the high standards they uphold in representing Saudi Arabia on the world stage. Their active participation in various aspects of the conference not only highlights their individual talents but also reflects the broader commitment of the Saudi scouting community to global engagement and collaboration.
