Ehsan: Saudi Arabia's trusted digital platform for charitable donations

Riyadh, March 13, 2024, The National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan) stands as a cornerstone of charitable donations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, offering a robust digital framework for philanthropic endeavors. Established by royal decree in 2021, Ehsan has effectively leveraged advanced technologies to streamline the donation process, ensuring swift and efficient delivery of aid to those in need. To date, the platform has facilitated donations exceeding SAR5 billion, benefiting over 4.8 million individuals, underscoring the Kingdom's deep-rooted commitment to charitable initiatives.

Ehsan's remarkable achievements have earned it a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest daily donations within 24 hours globally. Notably, on the 27th night of Ramadan last year, the platform witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with over 558,000 donors extending aid to 476,000 beneficiaries.

Endorsed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and overseen by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Ehsan's current phase runs from Friday, March 15 to the conclusion of Ramadan. This initiative falls within the framework of their unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes.

Operating at the intersection of data and artificial intelligence (AI), Ehsan aims to optimize the impact of development projects while ensuring their sustainability. Through strategic partnerships with government entities, the private sector, and non-profits, the platform seeks to bolster Saudi Arabia's leadership in charitable endeavors and augment the contribution of the non-profit sector to the national GDP.

In collaboration with approved institutions and civil associations, Ehsan streamlines the donation process, ensuring transparency and reliability. The platform also collaborates with various government entities, including the General Authority for Awqaf and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), to facilitate relief efforts and endowment projects.

To further enhance outreach and verify the eligibility of beneficiaries, Ehsan recently introduced the Istihqaq (eligibility) service. Supported by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), this service aims to identify and assist the underprivileged, thereby fostering community solidarity.

Ehsan's charitable and awareness campaigns align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, promoting a culture of donation and social cohesion. The platform's integration with government entities enhances its credibility and transparency, ensuring effective utilization of resources.

Additionally, Ehsan has launched the Ehsan Endowment Fund to provide sustainable endowment opportunities, allowing individuals to contribute via its website and application. By investing donated amounts and distributing returns to civil-society organizations across the Kingdom, the fund aims to perpetuate charitable efforts and maximize their impact.

Commissioned by royal decree and administered by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Ehsan accepts contributions digitally through its application, website (Ehsan.sa), and unified number 8001247000, ensuring secure and reliable donation channels.
