Eleanor Velasco Thornton is the third in a series of profiles that highlight the key figures in the history of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars as the company commemorates its 120th anniversary. In an almost exclusively male-dominated automotive industry at the time, she was a strong, intelligent, confident, and extremely influential woman. Her most notable distinction in Rolls-Royce history is that she was allegedly the model for the mascot Spirit of Ecstasy.
