Riyadh, January 29, 2024, Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, held a meeting with Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, Davis Chirchir. During their discussions, they addressed various energy-related issues, prominently featuring the "Empowering Africa" initiative. This initiative was launched by Saudi Arabia during the MENA Climate Week 2023, hosted by the Kingdom, with a primary objective to provide cleaner energy solutions, enhance connectivity, and support advancements in e-health and e-education.
In addition to deliberating on the "Empowering Africa" initiative, the two officials explored potential cooperation opportunities and strategies to strengthen ties in the fields of petroleum, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. The exchange also encompassed discussions on sharing expertise in various projects, policies, and regulations related to the energy sector. The meeting reflects a commitment to fostering collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Kenya in advancing sustainable and innovative solutions within the energy domain.
