Riyadh, September 30, 2023, Eng. Anef Abanomai, President of Saudi Post, and Masahiko Metoki, Director General of the Universal Post Union (UPU), convened a joint press conference at the Ministry of Transport today. The purpose of this gathering was to introduce the objectives and upcoming activities of the 4th UPU Extraordinary Conference to be held in Riyadh.
During the conference, the participants delved into the dynamic developments and transformations occurring within the postal and logistics sector, in addition to the global challenges confronting the postal system. Eng. Abanomai underscored the conference's role in facilitating in-depth discussions and the exchange of perspectives to reach decisions beneficial to society and postal service providers.
Masahiko Metoki expressed his appreciation to Saudi Arabia for hosting the conference, recognizing its substantial contributions to enhancing the UPU's mission and global postal service and network.
Scheduled from October 1 to 5 in Riyadh, the five-day conference will convene experts and leaders from the postal sector. These participants will engage in discussions aimed at broadening the UPU's membership base and devising solutions to tackle the sector's challenges.
