Engineer Waleed Al-Khuraiji joins Cat Walk for Arabian Leopard Day

Riyadh, February 9, 2024, Engineer Waleed Al-Khuraiji, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined the Cat Walk 2024 march today at the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh, marking the observance of the International Day of the Arabian Leopard. The event, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Catmosphere Foundation, and the Diplomatic Quarter Office of the Royal Commission for Riyadh, saw the participation of Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Deputy for International Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and numerous ambassadors from the Kingdom.

This year's Cat Walk, dedicated to honoring the International Day of the Arabian Leopard, aligns with the United Nations' designation of February 10 as a day to highlight the imperative of safeguarding wild felines and preserving their habitats.

During the Cat Walk 2024, participants embarked on a seven-kilometer journey, symbolizing the collective commitment to environmental preservation and the protection of big cats, notably the Arabian leopard. The Kingdom's proactive efforts in establishing and maintaining protected areas for wildlife and endangered species underscore its adherence to the highest global conservation standards.

The Cat Walk initiative has garnered widespread participation, with over 90,000 individuals from 136 countries engaging in the event between 2021 and 2022, showcasing a global consensus on the importance of wildlife conservation and habitat preservation.
