Malabo, October 11, 2023, The President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, held a significant meeting with Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Envoy for Climate, along with his accompanying delegation. At the beginning of their meeting, Minister Al-Jubeir conveyed warm greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, expressing their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the government and people of Equatorial Guinea. In response, President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo extended his greetings and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince, and the people of Saudi Arabia.
The discussions between the two sides encompassed a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, with a focus on strengthening these ties and expanding opportunities to fulfill the shared ambitions of both countries and their populations for further advancement and prosperity. President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo expressed his enthusiasm and eagerness to participate in the upcoming first Saudi-African Summit to be hosted by Saudi Arabia this year.
Minister Al-Jubeir expressed the Kingdom's gratitude for the support of Equatorial Guinea for Saudi Arabia's bids to host Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup. Additionally, during his visit, Al-Jubeir met with Simeon Oyono Esono Angue, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Equatorial Guinea, for discussions on matters of mutual interest.
