Estidamah Highlights Latest Technologies, Promising Research at Saudi Agriculture Exhibition

Riyadh, October 24, 2024 — Khalid Al Rohily, Acting Director General of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah), has announced the center’s active participation in the Saudi Agriculture Exhibition, taking place from October 21 to 24 at the Riyadh International Exhibition and Convention Center. This involvement highlights Estidamah's commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural practices in the Kingdom through knowledge transfer, research development, and engagement with key stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

During the exhibition, Estidamah aims to showcase cutting-edge technologies and research initiatives that align with Saudi Arabia’s sustainable agriculture goals. Al Rohily emphasized the importance of this engagement in fostering collaboration among farmers, agricultural companies, and researchers, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness and sustainability of agricultural practices in the region.

In a significant move to bolster its initiatives, Estidamah is set to sign several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with both local and international companies. Among the notable agreements is a partnership with Nesma Infrastructure and Technology, which will focus on advancing controlled-environment agriculture. This collaboration seeks to develop innovative solutions that optimize resource use and improve crop yields in a sustainable manner.

Additionally, Estidamah will formalize an MoU with Mishkat Company, aimed at transferring and applying specialized research findings to practical applications. This partnership will also include the implementation of training programs designed to equip agricultural professionals with the skills necessary to leverage these research advancements effectively.

Another significant agreement is with Living Green Farms, which will focus on pioneering agricultural techniques such as tissue culture, aeroponics, and vertical farming. These innovative approaches not only aim to enhance productivity but also promote environmental sustainability by minimizing land use and resource consumption.

Through these collaborative efforts, Estidamah reinforces its role as a leader in sustainable agriculture, committed to driving innovation and supporting the Kingdom’s agricultural sector in meeting its sustainability objectives. The center's participation in the Saudi Agriculture Exhibition serves as a vital platform for fostering partnerships that will propel the future of agriculture in Saudi Arabia.
