Brussels, August 12, 2023, The European Union expressed its satisfaction with the successful completion of the crude oil unloading operation from the Safer tanker, which took place in the Red Sea waters adjacent to the Yemeni coastline. In a statement delivered in Brussels, the spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, emphasized the criticality of the efficient transfer of approximately 1.14 million barrels of light crude oil. This transfer is of utmost importance in preventing an impending environmental disaster in Yemen and the Red Sea region.
He elucidated that the European Union allocated a sum of 3 million euros to bolster the initiative orchestrated by the United Nations in order to address the ecological peril presented by the vessel in the Red Sea.
