Riyadh, January 15, 2024, The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company (EVIQ) has officially launched its inaugural fast-charging station for electric vehicles in Riyadh. Unveiled on Monday, the station boasts two high-voltage quick chargers, each with a capacity surpassing 100 KW, enabling the simultaneous charging of up to four vehicles.
Mohammad Baker Gazzaz, the CEO of EVIQ, expressed the company's firm commitment to deploying over 5,000 fast chargers across 1,000 locations in Saudi Arabia by the year 2030. This ambitious plan aligns with the broader vision to advance electric vehicle infrastructure and promote sustainable transportation solutions throughout the Kingdom.
EVIQ, established as a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), is dedicated to spearheading the implementation of cutting-edge electric vehicle charging technology. The company's focus on timely deployment underscores its role in supporting the transition towards greener and more environmentally sustainable mobility solutions in Saudi Arabia.
