Riyadh, October 30, 2023, As per the latest update from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), a weather phenomenon characterized by moderate to torrential thundershowers, accompanied by robust gusts of wind, is expected to persist in various regions of Saudi Arabia. These regions include Najran, Jazan, Asir, Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Qassim, and Jawf. Furthermore, thundershowers, along with strong winds, are also projected for parts of the Northern Borders and Riyadh regions.
In addition to the thundershowers, residents and travelers should be mindful of the potential for fog formation during the nighttime and early morning hours, primarily in the elevated areas of Jazan, Asir, Baha, Makkah, Madinah, and Tabuk regions.
Turning our attention to the maritime conditions, the Red Sea is expected to experience a shift in wind patterns. The northern part of the Red Sea will witness northeasterly to northwesterly winds, with speeds ranging from 15 to 35 kilometers per hour. Conversely, the central and southern portions of the Red Sea will experience southwesterly to southeasterly winds, ranging from 15 to 40 kilometers per hour, accompanied by the likelihood of thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, in the Arabian Gulf, northeasterly to northwesterly winds are anticipated, with speeds varying between 10 to 30 kilometers per hour. It's crucial for individuals navigating these waters to remain cautious and heed any official weather advisories to ensure their safety and well-being.
