Riyadh, October 11, 2023, The Secretariat General of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) convened its periodic meeting in Riyadh, presided over by FANA President and Saudi Press Agency (SPA) President, Dr. Fahd bin Hassan Al Aqran. Representatives from news agencies in Kuwait, Tunisia, Jordan, Bahrain, and the UAE participated in the meeting, held at SPA headquarters and overseen by FANA Secretary-General Dr. Farid Ayar.
The meeting revolved around various agenda items, including work follow-up, recommendations from previous sessions, and discussions pertaining to professional and technical advancements and cooperation enhancements.
Dr. Al Aqran emphasized FANA's enduring commitment to fostering collaboration and advancing development in the realm of Arab media through its Secretariat and General Assembly conferences. He acknowledged the necessity for achieving positive results amidst the competitive landscape in the media sphere, marked by rapid developments and technological advancements in information exchange. Dr. Al Aqran also underscored the importance of news agencies as reliable sources of news content and called for united efforts among FANA members to facilitate an evolution in performance, tools, and media discourse.
