Riyadh, October 12, 2023, The Secretariat General of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) enjoyed an enriching visit to the historic Al-Turaif District in Diriyah, thoughtfully arranged by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) to coincide with FANA's meeting.
Dr. Fahd bin Hassan Al Aqran, President of FANA and SPA, led the delegation during their exploration of the Al-Turaif District, meticulously crafted in the traditional Najdi architectural style. This district was once the capital of the first Saudi state, and the visiting delegation received informative insights from guides provided by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, uncovering the history and significant aspects of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed site.
The visit included a stop at the Diriyah Museum, located in Salwa Palace, where the delegation had the chance to view ancient manuscripts, historical coins, traditional attire, and artistic artifacts that vividly capture the ambiance of the first Saudi state.
Concluding their museum visit, the guests received thoughtful souvenirs adorned with Diriyah calligraphy. The delegation also had the opportunity to admire the view from Al-Bujairi in the Al-Turaif district, offering a direct vantage point of Wadi Hanifa, one of Diriyah's largest open parks and a prominent natural landmark.
