Riyadh, April 04, 2024, The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has made a groundbreaking announcement regarding the prize money for the 2024 Show Jumping and Dressage World Cup, set to take place in Riyadh from April 17 to 20. This year's tournament will witness the highest monetary rewards ever offered in the event's history.
According to the FEI's official website, the organizers of the World Cup Show Jumping and Dressage Finals have significantly boosted the prizes for the winners. Initially budgeted at 1.3 million euros, the total prize money for the tournament has been doubled to an impressive 2.6 million euros, thanks to the generous backing of the organizing committee.
This substantial increase in prize money marks a historic moment for the World Cup Show Jumping and Dressage Finals, making the 2024 edition in Riyadh an extraordinary and unparalleled event. FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez expressed the organization's gratitude to the Saudi Equestrian Federation for its unwavering support, affirming the commitment to elevate the competition to an unprecedented level of competitiveness.
Moreover, Ibáñez underscored the organizing committee's dedication and the warm reception from the equestrian community in Saudi Arabia as pivotal factors contributing to the success of the event. The Kingdom is set to host a total of 13 events this year, with plans for an additional 12 events in 2025. Notably, AlUla has been chosen to host the prestigious World Endurance Championships in 2026.
Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, President of the Saudi Equestrian Federation, emphasized the Kingdom's readiness to host the largest equestrian event ever staged in the Middle East.
