Mina, Hajj Abu Bakr, a Filipino pilgrim, faced an unusual challenge on June 18, 2024." For many years, he was deeply hostile to Islam, which was made worse by negative depictions of the religion in various media. But his mother urged that he study Islam on her own, having embraced the faith during her ten years in Saudi Arabia. Through his investigation, Abu Bakr undertook a very personal path of self-realization and enlightenment. As per his mother's recommendation, he began studying Islam online from various sources. Using this technique, he was able to overcome many of the beliefs that had been bothering him for years.

This transformative experience led him to fully embrace the faith and become well-known in his community as an advocate, demonstrating his development and newly acquired insight. Hajj Abu Bakr told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) in a message about his restored happiness and trust in Islam. His pilgrimage came to a close when he fulfilled the fifth pillar of Islam, an event made even more remarkable by the pilgrimage facilities provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Not only has his metamorphosis brought him personal peace, but it has also positively impacted his tribe by making him a symbol of tolerance and acceptance.
