Riyadh, April 4, 2024, The Film Commission has initiated the second installment of "Saudi Film Nights," expanding its reach to five countries, starting with Morocco in April and concluding in Mexico in January 2025. This event showcases over 20 Saudi feature and short films that have received acclaim from both local and international film festivals, engaging filmmakers in discussions with a diverse audience comprising movie enthusiasts, academics, critics, and artists.
Abdullah Al-Qahtani, the CEO of the Film Commission, emphasized the event's significance in fostering cinema culture within Saudi Arabia while showcasing the global appeal of Saudi films. This year's edition aims for a broader impact by hosting screenings and discussions in multiple countries, supporting local talent, and raising awareness about the Saudi film industry on an international scale.
The inaugural edition of Saudi Film Nights took place last year across four cities in France, featuring five films to spotlight Saudi Arabia's film production, uplift Saudi filmmakers, facilitate their access to a diverse global audience, and facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration opportunities within the film industry.
