Film Commission to Participate in Venice International Film Festival 2024


Participation in Venice Film Festival: The Film Commission will represent Saudi Arabia at the 81st Venice International Film Festival from August 28 to September 7, 2024, aiming to showcase Saudi cinema and culture on a global stage.


Archival Roundtable: The Commission will host a roundtable event titled "Challenges Facing Modern and Emerging Archives in Particular," focusing on archival management challenges and promoting cultural dialogue.


Strategic Goals: The participation aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a global cinema hub, strengthen international relations, and enhance the global presence of the Saudi film sector, including emphasizing the importance of the National Film Archive.


Riyadh, August 26, 2024 — The Film Commission is proudly announcing its participation in the highly esteemed 81st Venice International Film Festival, scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 7, 2024, in Venice, Italy. This festival stands as one of the oldest and most prestigious in the cinematic world, organized as part of the Venice Biennale and recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).


The Film Commission’s involvement in this renowned festival underscores its strategic goal to position Saudi Arabia as a burgeoning global cinema hub.
