Final Qualifications for the King Salman Competition for Remembrance of the Holy Quran Beginning

The 26th edition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Local Competition for Quran memorization, recitation, and interpretation has begun in all regions of Saudi Arabia, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

Riyadh, December 10, 2024 – The preliminary qualifiers for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Local Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran have officially begun across all regions of Saudi Arabia. The 26th edition of the prestigious competition, which is being held this year under the Islamic calendar year 1446 AH, marks a significant event in the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to promote the memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran.


The competition, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, is held under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz. This initiative is a testament to the Kingdom's commitment to fostering the spiritual and cultural development of its citizens, particularly in relation to Islamic knowledge and devotion. The competition provides an opportunity for both boys and girls across the Kingdom to demonstrate their expertise in the Quran, encompassing memorization, recitation, and interpretation.


Participants will compete through a rigorous series of preliminary rounds, with successful contenders advancing to the final qualifiers, which are scheduled to take place during the month of Shaaban (February). This event serves as a key milestone in the religious and cultural calendar of Saudi Arabia, attracting participants from a wide range of ages and backgrounds.


This year's competition is distinguished by a generous prize pool totaling SAR 7,000,000, which will be distributed across six different categories. The top winners in the premier category, the most highly contested, will each be awarded SAR 400,000, with additional prizes for those excelling in other categories.
