August 10, 2024, saw the start of the preliminary qualification rounds for the 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran at Makkah. The competition, which runs from July 5 to July 17, 1446 AH, at Makkah's Grand Mosque, is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.
With a total prize money of four million Saudi Riyals, competitors fight for rewards in five distinct categories. The competition has full backing from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Makkah, August 10, 2024." The 44th session of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran began today with the preliminary qualification rounds. From July 5 to July 17, 1446 AH, the Grand Mosque in Makkah hosted the competition, which was organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.There are five distinct categories in which participants compete for prizes totaling four million Saudi Riyals.In line with the senior leadership's recommendations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accords this competition top importance and full support.The competition aims to encourage Muslims to memorize, comprehend, recite, and reflect on the Holy Quran in order to have a deep and meaningful relationship with it. This campaign also aims to establish a bond between youth and the Holy Quran and foster a culture of healthy competition among Quran memorizers worldwide.
