flynas achieves historic growth with 11.1 million passengers, up 28%

Riyadh, January 01, 2024, In a remarkable achievement, flynas, the national carrier and leading low-cost airline in the Middle East reported outstanding results for its performance in 2023 compared to the previous year, with a historic surge in the number of passengers exceeding 11.1 million, showcasing a remarkable growth rate of more than 28%.

The airline has further strengthened its position with the addition of 19 new aircraft during 2023, expanding its fleet to 64 aircraft, marking an impressive increase of over 35%. This substantial fleet expansion has allowed flynas to execute its strategic plan for growth and expansion with the slogan "We Connect the World to the Kingdom."

Throughout the year, flynas successfully launched 57 new destinations and routes spanning 10 countries, inaugurated its fourth operations base at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, and increased seat capacity by 22% for both domestic and international flights.

Bander Almohanna, CEO and Managing Director of flynas, expressed pride in the airline's remarkable performance, attributing it to the strength of their business model, the dedicated efforts of the team, and the effectiveness of their strategic growth plan. He highlighted the positive impact of continued investments in increasing the fleet size and expanding the destination network, propelling flynas to a prominent position in the global aviation industry.

Almohanna emphasized flynas' commitment to innovation and passenger experience, introducing new initiatives and products that provide passengers with a unique travel experience. The airline's steady progress is evident in its rising rank in the Skytrax classification, where it now stands among the top 4 low-cost carriers in the world and the best in the Middle East.

Reflecting on plans, Almohanna noted flynas' determination to expand to new markets, with announcements expected in the first quarter of 2024. He credited the unprecedented development in the Kingdom's aviation industry to the prosperity of the Kingdom's economy, supported by various sectors, especially tourism and travel, as outlined in Saudi Vision 2030 programs.

The successful trajectory of flynas has garnered international recognition, with accolades such as the Skytrax International Award as the 4th Best Low-Cost Carrier worldwide and the Best Low-cost Airline in the Middle East in 2023 for the sixth consecutive year. The airline also secured the Best Low-cost Airline Award in the Middle East from the World Travel Awards in 2023 for the ninth consecutive year. These awards underscore flynas' commitment to excellence and its prominent standing in the global aviation industry.
