flynas announced a new domestic route, launching direct flights from Dammam to Red Sea International Airport, starting December 28, 2024, supporting the Red Sea Project and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives.

Riyadh, December 20, 2024flynas, the leading low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East, has announced the launch of a new domestic flight route that further strengthens its expanding network and aligns with both its corporate growth strategy and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s national goals in the aviation sector. Starting December 28, 2024, flynas will begin operating direct flights from King Fahad International Airport in Dammam to Red Sea International Airport, a key gateway serving the world-renowned Red Sea Project in the northwest of Saudi Arabia.

This new route is a strategic move by flynas to support the Kingdom's ambitious plans for economic diversification, particularly in the field of tourism and aviation, which are central to Saudi Vision 2030. The Red Sea Project, a major tourism megaproject that aims to transform the region into a global luxury destination, is a cornerstone of the country’s broader vision to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil exports. As part of the project, Red Sea International Airport will serve as a critical entry point for travelers to this stunning coastal area, which promises to offer unique tourism experiences and cutting-edge facilities.

To begin, flynas will operate two weekly flights between Dammam—one of the airline’s four operational bases across the Kingdom—and Red Sea International Airport, facilitating increased connectivity to the developing region. The addition of this route is a testament to flynas’ commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s infrastructure development and expanding its role in the regional tourism and aviation markets. The Red Sea Project’s growing demand for accessible transportation makes this new flight service a vital link for both local and international visitors.

Since its inception in 2007, flynas has expanded its network significantly, now offering flights to more than 70 domestic and international destinations. With more than 1,500 weekly flights, the airline has played an integral role in boosting the Kingdom's aviation industry, having carried over 80 million passengers to date. Looking ahead, flynas is set on an ambitious growth trajectory, with plans to increase its network to 165 destinations, supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global hub for business, tourism, and transport.

Through the addition of the Dammam to Red Sea International Airport route, flynas continues to strengthen its position as a leading low-cost carrier in the region, making air travel more accessible for Saudi citizens, residents, and visitors, while contributing to the Kingdom’s broader strategic development goals. As Saudi Arabia continues to expand its aviation sector, flynas remains a key player in driving forward the Vision 2030 agenda, particularly in enhancing regional connectivity and supporting the growth of the Kingdom’s tourism and economic diversification initiatives.
