On September 20, 2024, Folk Maritime Services Company, which is owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and is a prominent operator of shipping lines and feeder vessels in the region, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers – Middle East (ICS ME). This agreement, established during the fifth edition of the Saudi Maritime and Logistics Congress in Dammam, focuses on implementing specialized training programs within the maritime sector.
The Institute will deliver targeted training in various aspects of maritime navigation to employees at Folk Maritime, including both recent graduates and seasoned professionals. This initiative aims to equip national talents with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the maritime industry. Supported by Folk Maritime, ICS ME will take the lead in developing and executing these training courses, while both organizations will work together on participant selection and evaluating the effectiveness of the programs.
