Beirut, January 24, 2025 — President Joseph Aoun of the Lebanese Republic welcomed Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, at the Baabda Palace in Beirut today, for a significant diplomatic meeting that underscored the enduring and strong ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.
During the meeting, Prince Faisal conveyed the warmest greetings and heartfelt congratulations from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to President Aoun, the Lebanese government, and the people of Lebanon. The Minister emphasized the Kingdom’s continued support and commitment to Lebanon’s stability, prosperity, and progress. He extended the Saudi leadership’s sincere wishes for Lebanon’s sustained development in the face of ongoing challenges.
The discussions centered around the latest political and economic developments within Lebanon and the broader region. Prince Faisal reiterated Saudi Arabia's unwavering support for Lebanon and its people, reaffirming the Kingdom’s readiness to stand by Lebanon in its efforts to overcome current difficulties and move toward a brighter future. The dialogue also touched on areas of potential cooperation between the two nations, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and fostering mutual understanding on regional and international issues.
The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Prince Yazid bin Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Farhan, the Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Lebanese Affairs, who has been instrumental in guiding Saudi-Lebanese relations, as well as Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Waleed Bukhari. Also present was Waleed Al-Ismail, Assistant Director General of the Foreign Minister's Office, who played a crucial role in facilitating the discussions.
