Foreign Minister Meets with His French Counterpart in Paris

The meeting reaffirmed the strong Saudi-French partnership, with both nations committed to advancing peace and security in the Middle East and globally.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with French Minister Jean-Noël Barrot in Paris to discuss bilateral relations and key regional developments.

Paris, November 16, 2024 – Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, held a productive working lunch today with Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, to discuss key bilateral relations and pressing regional and international issues. The meeting, which took place in Paris, underscored the deepening ties between Saudi Arabia and France, as both countries continue to foster cooperation in political, economic, and strategic spheres.


The two foreign ministers engaged in detailed discussions on the evolving situations in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, with a focus on the humanitarian crises and security challenges unfolding in these regions. They exchanged insights on the efforts being made by both nations and their partners to address these crises and work toward de-escalation and peace. Their conversation also highlighted the importance of international collaboration in responding to the escalating violence and ensuring the protection of civilians.


During the meeting, Prince Faisal and Minister Barrot also reviewed other regional developments, as well as broader international matters of mutual concern. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between Saudi Arabia and France, as both countries work together to advance stability, peace, and security in the Middle East and beyond.


The meeting was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to France, Fahad Ruwaily, and Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, Director General of the Foreign Minister’s Office. The discussions further reflect the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, with both nations playing a pivotal role in shaping the direction of global diplomacy and addressing shared geopolitical challenges.
