Forsterling wins Aramco Team Series Ladies Golf event in Tampa

Riyadh, March 12, 2024, German golfer Alexandra Forsterling emerged victorious at the Aramco Team Series Ladies Golf event, culminating in Tampa, Florida, U.S., on March 10. The tournament, an integral part of the series sponsored by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), showcased her remarkable performance.

Forsterling's triumph not only clinched her a coveted spot on the European Team for the forthcoming Solheim Cup 2024, set to unfold at the esteemed Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, but also propelled her to the second position in the qualification standings based on accumulated points.

Among the notable contenders in the event's inaugural round were Carlota Ciganda and Bronte Law, both securing places within the top five. Additionally, Lexi Thompson of Team U.S., renowned for her prowess in major championships, delivered a commendable performance. Of particular significance, Indian golfer Diksha Dagar secured the 15th spot, marking the sole player from outside Europe to achieve this milestone, thereby reinforcing her standing among the European teams.

The Aramco Team Series, under the patronage of PIF, will set its course next for the Republic of Korea, where the upcoming event is scheduled to unfold from May 10-12. Anticipated to attract the world's elite female golfers, the competition promises another thrilling battle for the coveted title.
