Forum Discussions on Saudi Arabia's Global Role: The Saudi Universities Alumni Forum in Bishkek focused on the contributions of alumni from Russia and Central Asia in promoting Saudi Arabia’s efforts to serve Islam, enhance diplomatic relations, and foster cultural understanding.

Bishkek, November 20, 2024 – The Forum for Saudi Universities Alumni from Russia and Central Asia, which began on November 19, continued its second day of insightful sessions in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Organized by the Islamic University of Madinah, Taibah University, and the University of Jeddah, the forum has brought together distinguished alumni who have studied at Saudi universities to discuss their academic achievements and contributions to fostering stronger ties between Saudi Arabia and their home countries. The event, running through November 21, serves as a platform for exploring how the alumni have played key roles in shaping perceptions of Saudi Arabia and promoting mutual understanding.


Today's sessions focused on the vital role that Saudi alumni have played in highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts to serve Islam and the Muslim community. Academics shared their contributions to fostering positive diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and their respective nations, using examples of successful initiatives and collaborative projects. The discussions underscored how alumni have served as ambassadors of Saudi values and its vision for supporting Islamic causes around the world.


In addition, the forum featured presentations on the promotion and development of the Arabic language, an area in which Saudi alumni have made significant strides. Papers highlighted their contributions to establishing Arabic language programs, developing curricula, and fostering research in Arabic language and literature within their home countries. This also included efforts to expand Arabic language programs in Russia and Central Asia, aiming to enhance cultural ties and improve understanding of the Arabic-speaking world.


The forum also addressed Saudi Arabia’s role in the Islamic world, especially in providing educational opportunities to Muslim minorities. Many alumni shared how Saudi universities have contributed to Islamic education through seminars, workshops, and training courses, thereby raising awareness and providing academic support to communities abroad. These sessions showcased the Kingdom's leadership in supporting Islamic projects, promoting Muslim culture, and addressing humanitarian needs worldwide.


One of the key highlights of the event was a seminar that explored Saudi Arabia’s experience in admitting international students and maintaining strong connections with them after graduation.
