Jeddah, le 21 juin 2024. Pilgrims from all over the world often visit the old Jeddah marketplaces to make purchases, explore, and visit significant historical and economic landmarks. The Historic District, and more specifically, the center area of Al-Balad, has been a popular pilgrim destination for hundreds of years. This district is home to a bustling market that sells a wide variety of souvenirs and heritage treasures, which tourists eagerly purchase for their families and loved ones. Carpets, prayer beads, and precious stones adorned with images of the Kaaba, the Grand Mosque, or the Prophet's Mosque are among the most popular items that pilgrims purchase throughout their journey. In addition, there is a significant demand for a variety of dates, linens, and traditional artwork, such as depictions of the two sacred mosques, depictions of Quranic calligraphy, and depictions of religious locales.

These artifacts evoke wonderful memories in pilgrims, and they hope to be able to recreate those memories in the future. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) spoke with a large number of pilgrims who expressed their happiness at the opportunity to go to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj and explore the abundant attractions that the Kingdom has to offer before going back to their respective countries of origin. They expressed a desire to partake in the spiritual journey available during the Hajj because it had such a profound effect on them. Furthermore, they expressed a desire to make the most of their scheduled excursions by going to Jeddah, a city rich in diversity, and seeing important cultural and heritage sites, markets, and centers.
