Riyadh, March 03, 2024, The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) hosted the 10th meeting of the Executive Steering Committee of the Cooperative Aviation Security Programme Middle East (CASP-MID). Chaired by CASP-MID Chairman and GACA's Executive Vice-President for Aviation Security, Mohammed Alfozan, the meeting was attended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Regional Director for the Middle East Regional Office, Mohamed Abubaker Farea.
Representatives from CASP-MID member states, ICAO, and international supporting bodies were present. The meeting included participation from 10 countries: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Sudan, Qatar, Yemen, and Syria.
Alfozan, in his opening speech, highlighted the meeting's objective of discussing important matters and establishing a vision for civil aviation security. He welcomed Egypt and Qatar to the program, emphasizing the significance of collaboration in enhancing aviation security at both regional and global levels, ultimately aiming to create a safe future for civil aviation.
During the meeting, participants commended the achievements made by CASP-MID over the past two years and acknowledged the Kingdom's leading role in regional aviation security. They expressed their support for member states and the program's activities aimed at enhancing security and protecting civil aviation against unlawful interference. The collaborative efforts underscore the commitment to maintaining a robust and secure aviation environment in the Middle East region.
