Beijing, February 23, 2024, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Dauilej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) concerning air transportation with Song Zhiyong, Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, on Thursday. This significant agreement was formalized during the visit of Saudi civil aviation officials to China, marking a pivotal step in the ongoing collaboration between the two nations within the air transportation sector.
The MoU delineates various areas of cooperation, including the expansion of air transportation routes, the facilitation of air traffic, and the formulation and enforcement of frameworks for collaboration in transportation and air freight between Saudi Arabia and China. Additionally, the agreement entails an initial consensus to update the existing bilateral agreement between the two countries in this domain, with a view to bolstering global connectivity in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Aviation Strategy.
These concerted efforts are geared towards bolstering trade exchange and catalyzing economic growth between Saudi Arabia and China, underscoring the strategic significance of enhanced collaboration in the realm of air transportation.
