On October 13, 2024, the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) and Newlab entered into a significant cooperation agreement to establish the Logistics Innovation Studio. This announcement was made during the inaugural Global Logistics Forum held in Riyadh, which aims to enhance collaboration and innovation within the logistics sector.

The agreement involves several key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, the Transport General Authority (TGA), the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), the Ports Development Company (King Abdullah Port), and Newlab. This diverse coalition underscores the collaborative effort to address pressing challenges in the logistics field.

By leveraging advanced technology, the studio aims to promote innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and improve environmental sustainability. It will also serve as a platform for facilitating collaboration between innovators globally and the Kingdom's transport and logistics ecosystem.

In addition to fostering an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia, the Logistics Innovation Studio will enable practical trials to expedite the adoption of advanced technologies. This initiative is designed to empower entrepreneurs and innovators to effectively market their solutions both locally and internationally, contributing to the Kingdom’s broader goals of economic diversification and technological advancement.
