Riyadh, March 25, 2025 – The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has released its monthly report assessing the performance of Saudi Arabia’s international and domestic airports for February 2025.

The report evaluates airport performance based on 11 key criteria, aligning with strategic goals to enhance service quality, improve the passenger experience, and elevate service standards across the Kingdom’s airports.

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan, Arar International Airport, and Al-Gurayat Airport ranked among the top performers.

The airports were categorized into five groups. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh secured first place among international airports handling more than 15 million passengers annually, achieving an 82% compliance rate. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah ranked second with the same compliance rate but fell behind Riyadh in meeting evaluation criteria.

In the second category for international airports handling between 5 to 15 million passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam ranked first with a 91% compliance rate, while Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah achieved 82%.

For international airports handling 2 to 5 million passengers annually, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan secured first place with a 100% compliance rate, followed by Abha International Airport, also at 100%, with Jizan surpassing Abha in evaluation criteria.

Among international airports handling fewer than 2 million passengers annually, Arar International Airport ranked first with a 100% compliance rate, excelling in average wait times for arriving and departing flights.

In the domestic airport category, Al-Gurayat Airport claimed first place with a 100% compliance rate, surpassing competitors in average wait times for arriving and departing flights.

GACA evaluates airport performance using 11 key indicators, including passenger wait times during check-in, baggage claim, passport control, and customs clearance. The assessment also considers accessibility for people with disabilities and other criteria aligned with global best practices.
