Riyadh, April 11, 2025, The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released today the Industrial Production Index (IPI) statistics for February 2025, showing a 0.2% decrease compared to February of the previous year, influenced by a decline in mining and quarrying activity.

Furthermore, the mining and quarrying subindex decreased by 0.7%, while the manufacturing sub-index increased by 0.2%.

The subindex for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activity rose by 1.1%, and the subindex for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities recorded a significant increase of 13.1%.

The IPI for main economic activities showed a 1.6% decrease in oil activities and a 3.2% increase in non-oil activities.

GASTAT publishes the IPI monthly as an economic indicator that reflects changes in the volume of industrial output, calculated from the industrial production survey.
