
Thimphu, April 03, 2025 – Dr. Hussam Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit (GCA), attended the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) Board Meeting today in Thimphu, Bhutan. Representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the IDI Board of Directors, Dr. Alangari joined members from the United Kingdom, Brazil, Norway, Austria, South Africa, Kenya, and Bhutan.
The board reviewed the IDI's initiatives and achievements over the past period, focusing on the technical support provided to Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in developing INTOSAI member countries through various programs aimed at enhancing their performance.
Key discussions included plans for further supporting the initiative in the future. The board approved the IDI's 2024 annual report and financial statements, assessed the initiative's future financial outlook, and adopted policies and guidelines for the disbursement of support to beneficiary institutions.
The board also addressed several other important issues, taking actions to further the IDI’s mission.
The INTOSAI Development Initiative is committed to offering technical support to INTOSAI member SAIs, focusing on capacity-building programs and projects that enhance the abilities of SAI staff and coordinate support for SAIs in developing countries to improve their overall performance.
