Riyadh, April 4, 2025 – Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by an Israeli minister and several extremist settlers, calling it a clear violation of Islamic sanctities and a reflection of the occupation forces' intent to further destabilize security and stability in the Palestinian territories.
Albudaiwi emphasized that these repeated incursions by settlers and Israeli officials into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque are a serious violation of international law and the historical and legal status quo of Jerusalem and its sanctities.
He stated that this act is a direct assault on the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, a provocation to Muslim sentiments, and an escalation that fuels tensions in the region, deepening the cycle of violence.
