GCC Secretary General condemns Quran desecration at The Hague embassies

Riyadh, September 25, 2023, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has strongly condemned the disgraceful act of tearing up copies of the Holy Quran by an extremist group in front of several embassies in The Hague. He expressed concern that these offensive actions could inflame the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.

Al-Budaiwi reiterated his call to the global community to promptly and decisively address these violent and provocative incidents, which have occurred recently under the guise of freedom of speech without a clear response. He stressed the importance of nations where such provocations against Muslims occur to fulfill their moral and legal responsibilities in halting these universally condemned acts.
