Riyadh, January 30, 2024, The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a military base near the Jordanian-Syrian border. The attack resulted in the tragic loss of American soldiers' lives and injuries to others. In his statement, Albudaiwi expressed deep concern over the incident and emphasized its severe nature as a violation of the sovereignty of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The GCC chief highlighted that such a hostile terrorist act represents a serious threat to stability and security in the region, escalating tensions. He underscored the firm stance of the GCC countries against all forms of terrorism, irrespective of their origin, and rejected the motives and justifications behind such acts of violence.
Emphasizing the necessity of confronting terrorism and renouncing all forms of violence, Albudaiwi expressed the GCC's unwavering support and solidarity with Jordan at all levels.
