Riyadh, February 11, 2024, Jasem Albudaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has conveyed his heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain following the tragic loss of lives and injuries sustained by their armed forces personnel due to a terrorist attack in the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Albudaiwi vehemently denounced the despicable terrorist act, which targeted innocent lives, emphasizing that such reprehensible acts not only pose a threat to regional security and stability but also flagrantly violate established norms, conventions, and international agreements.
Additionally, the GCC Secretary-General extended his deepest sympathies to the families of the fallen heroes, beseeching the Almighty to shower them with His boundless mercy, grant them eternal peace, and provide their loved ones with strength and comfort during this trying time. He also prayed for the swift recovery of those wounded in the attack.
