Riyadh, November 22, 2023, The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has lauded the noteworthy and praiseworthy efforts spearheaded by the State of Qatar, in conjunction with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America. This collaborative initiative aims at establishing a humanitarian truce agreement with the goal of alleviating the severe conditions prevalent in the Gaza Strip.
Albudaiwi expressed optimism regarding the potential positive outcomes of this agreement, foreseeing its ability to streamline the delivery of crucial humanitarian and relief aid, along with essential fuel, to the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, he conveyed a sense of hope that this truce would not only serve as an immediate relief measure but also act as a catalyst for a more enduring ceasefire. The overarching objective is to bring a conclusive end to the crisis in the region, thereby alleviating the profound suffering endured by the Palestinian people.
