GCC States and Uzbekistan are aiming to enhance cooperation and adopt a joint work plan

New York - In a recent statement, Jasem Albudaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, expressed the shared desire of GCC member states and Uzbekistan to strengthen their collaboration. Albudaiwi highlighted the intention to establish a joint work plan that effectively serves the interests of both parties. During a meeting held on Thursday, Albudaiwi, whose full name was not provided, expressed his views. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. The individual he met with was Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, various topics were deliberated, including the aftermath of the joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Central Asian nations, which took place on September 7. During the recent discussions, the focus was on the development of relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Uzbekistan.

In a recent statement, Albudaiwi, a representative from one of the sides involved, expressed optimism about the future adoption of a collaborative work plan. This plan is rooted in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed between the parties in 2021. Albudaiwi also commended Uzbekistan for its commendable efforts while holding the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in 2022.
