Strengthening Partnership: The meeting aimed to enhance cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in humanitarian and relief efforts, with a focus on strengthening their partnership.

New York, September 26, 2024, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met yesterday with Secretary-General and CEO of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Jagan Chapagain on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.


 Albudaiwi said that the GCC states consistently endeavor to enhance cooperation with regional and international organizations involved in humanitarian and relief efforts.


 The two officials discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between the IFRC and the GCC states and significant health issues and challenges on the regional and international levels.
